What is Myofascial release massage?

Myofascial Release massage is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain improve strength and restore motion. This essential “time element” has to do with the viscous flow and the piezoelectric phenomenon: a low load (gentle pressure) applied slowly will allow a viscoelastic medium (fascia) to elongate. Basically if the body is in trouble it shrinks...Myofascial release techniques do the opposite.

Peter Mitchell has been working with Myofascial release techniques since 1992. He has studied under several leading practitioners in the field including Steve Goldstein and John Barnes. He has taught this course to over 200 Physiotherapists in England and Australia. Combined with Muscle Strength Diagnostics, this technique allows him to correct the underlying fascial issues causing most pain, weakness, stiffness and dysfunction. He is happy to share this information with anyone wanting to build their treatment portfolio and get amazing results.

What can Myofascial release massage (MFR) do?

Most mechanical pain stems from dysfunction of the Fascia in the body, whether it is shortened, injured, under abnormal stress or strained. It has over 75% of the sensory nerve supply in the body. It is designed to protect, support, suspend and separate all the other parts of the body. It gives structure to the body, allows movement and maintains strength. In essence the body would not work without the Fascia.

MFR restores the normal structural pattern of the Fascia, releasing strain on muscles, organs, nerves, arteries and bones, relieving pain and allowing the body to function as normal. Strength and flexibility are the 2 main characteristics of the body that allows pain-free function. Both of these depend on a mobile Fascial system throughout the body. Any dysfunction of the Fascia will result in dysfunction of not just a part of the body but also the entire system. MFR brings the body back to life!

Great for most Musculo-skeletal conditions and sports injuries (both on and off the field). Also very useful in Neurological conditions such as stroke and in post-op rehabilitation.

Fascial release techniques are some of the fastest growing in the world, we should not be left behind.
